ARTICLE 1 • ORGANIZATION OF THE DESIGN COMPETITION 2021

The Design Competition is organized by Silveryway.com of Cosmos Strategics Limited, located at Room 19, Unit 401-403, Level 4, Cyberport 1, Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong.

ARTICLE 2 • CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

This free design competition is open to any individual with access to the internet, a valid e-mail address and a valid corresponding address in Hong Kong or Macau, by excluding personnel of the organizing company and their families, as well as all persons involved in the development of the competition.

The organizing company may ask any minor participant to justify this authorization and, if necessary, to disqualify a participant who can not justify this authorization.

The mere fact of participating in this competition implies the full and unreserved acceptance of this regulation.

ARTICLE 3 • TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

This competition takes place exclusively on the platform https://silveryway.com on the dates indicated on the website. The conditions of participation are explained and accessible on this page.

Participation in the competition is done by submitting one or more 3D printable 3D models of one or several sterling silver jewelry design on silveryway website. The user must be the original author of the model to participate in the competition (in accordance with Article 3). The contest is not restrictive, the users can participate as many times as they wants by submitting several different creations online. The selection will be made according to a scoring grid available at this address: https://silveryway.com/pages/3d-printable-jewelry-design-competition-2021

The models must be shared free of charge and with the CC-BY license. In order to participate, the user must also have a valid e-mail address  and a valid corresponding address in Hong Kong or Macau, while Silveryway will reserve the right to display the 3D models participating in the contest to promote the talents of the participants. 

ARTICLE 4 • WARRANTY OF THE AUTHOR

The author of the 3D creation guarantees that by participating in the competition, he/she will not engage in any activity that is illegal or contrary to public order or morality. The author guarantees the companies organizing the competition the peaceful enjoyment of the rights to use the creation under the conditions provided in this regulation against any disturbance, action, claim, opposition or eviction of any third party claiming that the use infringes his/her rights. Therefore, the author guarantees the organizing companies against the direct or indirect consequences of any claim or claim by third parties claiming to hold rights on the creation provided by the participant in connection with this competition.

ARTICLE 5 • DESIGNATION OF WINNERS

Winners will be contacted by both the email and mail via the email and the corresponding address they have entered on their Silveryway platform. The notification sent by Silveryway will confirm the nature of the prize won. Each winner must provide a valid email and corresponding address. Any winner giving an incorrect or unanswered address within 20 working days of sending a notice of winning will be deemed to forfeit the winner.

The winners will be determined according to the score they will receive in following grid of analysis:

• Originality/ Creativity the 3D model design: 50%
• Matching of story to design: 50%

The jury board is composed of:

• Dr Chan Lai Kiu, Founder of arQstudio, Co-founder of the HK room in PMQ
• Dr Ken Too, Founder of Silveryway (Particulars see About Us)

Particulars of Dr Chan Lai Kiu:

Dr. Chan Lai Kiu is the founder of a multi-disciplinary design practice arQstudio Ltd and a co-founder of the architectural practice AMQ Ltd and the HK room in PMQ. Her social innovation idea, aTTempspace, won 2015 Techathon, which led to an IT startup in Science Park.

Before her entrepreneurial ventures, she was the Director of Design and Project in Hysan Development Co. Ltd from 2008 to August 2014, She led teams to complete the LEED and Beam Plus Platinum project, Hysan Place and a number of major asset enhancement projects in Lee Gardens area, Causeway Bay. Before joining Hysan, she was a design director in P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd. Her projects won many local and international awards, such as ULI Global Sustainability Award, AIA/ALA Library Award, DFA Best Design from Greater China Award, MIPIM Gold Award, HKIA Annual Awards, etc. She was also the recipient of Hong Kong Young Architect Award in 1993 and the winner of Tai O Twin Bridges Design Competition in 2013.

Apart from design works, she is an artist, curator and writer. She blogs at the platform ARSPIRE (http://arspire.blogspot.hk or www.arspire.com). Currently she is also a Director of the Hong Kong Architecture Centre.

 

ARTICLE 6 • PRIZES

The competition is endowed with the following prizes, awarded chronologically to the participants declared winners. Each winner wins a single prize.

• 10 Honorable Mentions: Cash prize HKD$50, 20% off Silveryway coupon discount code, E-Certificate of Merit

In the case of any disputes, Silveryway reserves the right of final decision.

ARTICLE 7 • IDENTIFICATION OF WINNERS AND ELIMINATION OF PARTICIPATION

The participants authorize verification of their identity. Participants have to submit their full name and corresponding address. 

Failure to comply with this Regulation, as well as any fraud or attempted cheating, irrespective of its modalities, will lead to the elimination of the participant's participation.

ARTICLE 8 • PRIVACY POLICY

Silveryway collects and uses personal data e.g. name, email address and corresponding address only for the purpose of the competition. These data will be never be sold to any third party.
